Session-Green-Vertical

This is my first time to take a SESSION Pilates class. Do you recommend that I take a private session first?

Unlike traditional Pilates, our group class format doesn’t require a private session. Our skilled instructors are great at adjusting and modifying for all fitness levels. However, if you have chronic back pain, painful joints, or a severe medical condition, we recommended you take a private first to assess your fitness level. If you have concerns about your ability to participate in a group class, please let us know and we will gladly assess whether it is appropriate.

Do you have lockers/showers?

We do have lockers for you to store your belongings in while taking class, and if there is no front desk, we lock the studio door 5 minutes after class starts to make sure your belongings stay safe and sound. We do not have showers, but don't worry! We have lots of products for you to freshen up with post-session.

Do you provide water?

Absolutely! We sell Live to Give bottled waters at all studios for $3.
Stay hydrated and know you're doing some good, too! Live to Give donates 50% of the company's net profits to charities that support military, veterans, first responders and their families.

How early should I arrive to class?

If it is your first time, we recommend arriving 10 minutes before class starts so that we can walk you through our studio and equipment. This way, you feel as comfortable as possible before class begins! If you arrive late, we must reschedule your first session for another time, as this is a safety concern.

If it isn’t your first time, we recommend arriving 5 minutes before the start of class.

What if I arrive late?

While we recommend that you arrive 5 minutes before class starts, we understand that life happens and will hold your spot for the first 5 minutes of class. However, if you arrive more than 5 minutes after class has started, we will unfortunately have to turn you away and will not be able to allow you to enter. Not only is this to respect the atmosphere of the class that is currently in session, but it is also with your safety in mind as the warm up portion of class is complete.

What is the cancellation policy?

You may cancel anytime before 12 hours from the start of your session with no penalty and no lost credits. If you have an unlimited membership and cancel within 12 hours from the start of class or no show, you will receive a $20 cancellation fee. If you have a credit package and cancel within 12 hours from the start of class or no show, you will lose the credit that you booked with rather than receiving a penalty fee.

How does the waitlist work?

The waitlist closes 14 hours before class starts. This is so that anyone who is added to class from the waitlist has time to cancel outside of our 12 hour penalty window. This means that you will know if you have made it into a class from the waitlist a minimum of 14 hours before class starts. You will receive an email if you make it into the class. If you booked with a class credit and you do not make it into class, the credit will be returned to your account once the class is complete.

Once the waitlist is closed (14 hours before class), if a last-minute spot opens in the class it will automatically become available to book by anyone. For this reason, we always tell people to keep an eye out for last-minute cancellations!

How far in advance can I book a class?

It depends on if you have an unlimited membership or a credit package. If you have an unlimited membership (1 Month, 3 Month, 1 Year Membership), you get access to book 30 days in advance! If you have a credit package, single credit, or you book with a special membership (i.e. Student/Teacher or Corporate), you are able to book 14 days in advance.

What should I wear?

We recommend you wear something that is comfortable to move in that you would traditionally wear to work out or do yoga in. For safety and sanitary reasons, we do require all clients to wear non-slip socks while on the reformer. If you do not have any—or it's just time for a fresh pair—we sell some pretty snazzy sticky socks in-studio for $10.

Where should I park?

UPTOWN: You may park in our parking lot, which is along the side of our building—on the corner of Cole and Fitzhugh. If those are all occupied, you can park curbside along Cole Avenue. (Please do not park across the street at Sigel's or in any of the other business parking lots surrounding the studio.)

LOVERS LANE: You may park anywhere in the shopping strip along Lovers Lane or along Amherst Avenue, which is just behind the studio. *Please do not park in the lot to the left of our studio that is designated for Chip's Old Fashioned Hamburger.

LAKEWOOD: Anywhere! There is ample parking throughout Hillside Village Shopping Center.

PLANO: Take your pick! We have plenty of parking along the front of the studio, as well as along the sides of the building. Please do not park in any spots that are designated for Tacodeli.

How old do you have to be to take a SESSION class?

Are there different class levels?

No, our standard session is formatted for all fitness levels! That being said, all instructors provide modifications and advancements throughout every class.

However, on the last Sunday of every month we host two classes at all studios where 100% of the proceeds benefit The Family Place. The Family Place Donation Classes take place during the 1:40/2:50 at all studios. The class at 2:50 is “Family Place Donation – Foundations” and is perfect for first timers or beginners as it focuses on breaking down the movements and moving at a slower pace. Fair warning, though: the shakes are still VERY real. 😉

Can I take if I am pregnant?

If you have been working out with SESSION before becoming pregnant, you can continue to do so as long as you are comfortable and have been cleared by your doctor! Be sure to let front desk or the instructor know so that we can put an alert on your account and so that the instructor may provide modifications for you throughout your session.

**Doctors do not advise that you try a new workout while pregnant. For that reason, we do not allow first-time clients who are pregnant. If you are pregnant and have NEVER taken class at SESSION Pilates prior to becoming pregnant, we kindly ask that you wait to take your first session with us until you are no longer pregnant.

How do I create an account?

Oh, this is super easy! We recommend downloading the SESSION Pilates app. You can create and manage your account with our app, as well as purchase classes and manage your schedule.

Or you can simply click the green “book now” button on the left-hand side of this screen. Once it redirects you, click the “Sign Up” button and follow the instructions.

Due to our cancellation / no-show policy, we do require that all clients have a valid credit card on their account. To add or update your CC information, simply login to your account!

What if my credits are about to expire?

Short and sweet: As long as you let us know prior to your expiration date, we are happy to extend out any individual classes or credit packages. However, our hands are tied once the credits have expired as we do not have access to previously expired credits. (We are unable to extend or freeze any unlimited memberships.)

What if I need to cancel my membership?

The One Month Unlimited and Three Month Unlimited memberships renew indefinitely unless cancelled prior to the renewal date. Should you need to cancel a One Month Unlimited, please email us at info@sessionpilates.com before the renewal date. Should you need to cancel a Three Month Unlimited, we are happy to do so the same way as long as you have fulfilled your three month obligation. (The One Year Unlimited membership is a one-time payment and does not automatically renew.)

What if I want to switch classes?

If you are signed up for a class and need to switch to another class time, we are happy to do so as long as it is within the same day, same studio AND same instructor. Otherwise, the cancellation policy will take effect. The reason being that if we were to move you to a different class with a different instructor, the original instructor will not longer get paid for your spot if it is within the late cancellation period.

How do I book a private?

If you are interested in a private, first go ahead and set up an account with us. When you are done, email us at info@sessionpilates.com requesting a private and giving us as much information about why you are interested in a private. From there, you will hear back from us shortly with more information and if we think it's the right fit and/or if any of our instructors are available. Please note that we have limited availability when it comes to scheduling privates as our studios are only available when there is not an existing group class scheduled.
